As many other products designed and manufactured by RGI, the VacuumArt was devised from real needs expressed by RGI customers. In particular, the first VacuumArt prototype derived from an idea thought up by a well-known Florence’s restorer.
WHAT IS VACUUMART
VacuumArt is a small and easily transportable machine which allows creating a constant in time and adjustable vacuum.
It is usually used for linings and consolidations and it permits to create a controlled and uniform bond of the various layers constituting a restored painting or, generally speaking, obtaining a constant pressure on a surface.
HOW VACUUMART WORKS
The VacuumArt is equipped with a powerful motor and provides the operator with a suction duct that allows creating a vacuum atmosphere in a sealed environment. The desired vacuum can be adjusted, using a knob, from 10 mbar (high vacuum) up to a pressure close to the atmospheric one, allowing the set value remaining stable and constant during the whole treatment. The vacuum can be adjusted with precision and that allows managing countless situations as it can be adapted both to the most delicate artworks and to situations where it is needed a more decisive action of consolidation.
WHY VACUUMART SHOULD BE CHOSEN
VacuumArt can be thought as a perfect alternative for the traditional vacuum production methods. The vacuum quality, defined as the stability in time and adjustment precision that can be obtained through VacuumArt, is comparable and often superior to the one provided by micro-perforated boards. A further advantage of VacuumArt is its adaptability to various situations which optimises workspaces and guarantees a substantial saving on costs without compromising the quality.
